Stillman of mostly black-and-white photographs of Japanese Tokugawa period suits of armor, helmets, coats, hats, saddles, lances, and other objects from a collection originally owned by Hamano Kametaro and later acquired by Yamanaka & Company. Both albums include a foreword handwritten in Japanese script, in ink on shikishi paper, by Yamanaka Sadajiro. Volume two includes mostly duplicate photographs with some photomechanical prints of sword guards and various objects from other sources; of special note is a portrait of a samurai, circa 1880, with bow and arrows, dressed in a full suit of armor.
